A happy day on Tobruk St.

On the 20th of June, a bulldozer turned up on our block (finally!) and scraped this hole. It was a very exciting day - only three months later than we were expecting.

Over the next week, mysterious works went on - things we couldn't see - and pipes started popping out of the ground. Those more experienced in home building (mum and dad) said that pipes had been layed underground in preparation for the slab.

We were particularly excited to find the $1000 pipe - the separate grey and black water pipes on both sides of the house.

Not a lot happened for about three weeks, then more movement at the station. We were told the slab would be layed in the upcoming week.

And there it was, the most beautiful concrete we had ever seen! Finally seeing the base of the house is a wonderful thing. We can see that there should be enough space on the side of the house for a water tank which is great news. Again, those more experienced have said that there will now be more waiting as the slab sets.
Happy days on Tobruk St.
